Cloud services like Google and iCloud

Cloud services are used to synchronize several devices (smart phones, online calendar, etc.) linked to Google, for example. Furthermore, synchronized Google calendars can also be shared with other users.

However, Memotoo must carry out the setup itself.

  • Google: If desired, you can set the synchronization to synchronize only one single event / category and contact type / group.
  • iCloud: Calendar synchronization between iCloud and Memotoo does not work reliably because some appointments are not transferred. It is therefore strongly discouraged from a setup with the iCloud
  • Alternative: Synchronization on Mac, iPhone, iPad etc. via CalDAV / CardDAV or Exchange Active Sync

CalDAC and CardDAV

Synchronization with CalDAC and CardDAV is an older transmission standard for appointments and contacts. Unlike other transfer methods, Cal and CardDAV do not display a sync history in Memotoo. Therefore, you need to set up separate sync profiles for calendar and contacts.

Hint:

Note that you must add the following attribute to your user name: “_device=NAME” NAME can be replaced by any combination of the numbers 0-9 and the letters A-Z. For the sake of clarity, it is advisable to refer the name to the device used. e.g.

  • For an iPhone:“_device=iPhone”
  • For MacOS:“_device=MacBook”

Thus a correct user name would be called for example “maxmustermann_device=iPhone”

Synchronization with Google Calendar and gmail

You can carry out your synchronization here .

gmail contact synchronization:

  1. Click on them and confirm with “Allow Memotoo access to my gmail contacts”
  2. You will then be redirected to the Google page where you should log in and click “Allow”.
  3. Select the sync type and what you want to synchronize. The sort sequence may remain “empty”.
  4. Confirm with “Synchronize”.

Google Calendar: Calendar Synchronization

  1. Click on them and confirm with “Allow Memotoo to access your Google calendar”
  2. You will then be redirected to the Google page, where you should log in and click on “Allow”.
  3. Select the sync type, the target calendar, and the category you want to sync. You can also synchronize “All events of the Memotoo calendar”.
  4. It is recommended to activate the checkbox below.
  5. Now click on “Synchronize”

Outlook – Exchange ActiveSync

Exchange ActiveSync is the most modern standard for the synchronization on mobile devices and programs such as Outlook (from 2013) and also the most reliable currently for synchronization with onOffice

Hint:

No already existing appointments/calendars in Outlook will be synchronized! Only a new calendar is added, which you have to use for synchronization.

You can find instructions for synchronization with Outlook 2016 here.
